About Shaida
Shaida (شهادة) means proof in Hausa. We built it because buying a small startup shouldn't mean trusting a screenshot.
The problem
Most listing sites run on revenue numbers the seller typed in. Buyers can't tell a real $5,000 a month from a made-up one, so they either walk away or spend weeks on due diligence. In many African markets, where startups sell through Paystack and Flutterwave, that doubt is even stronger.
What we do
Shaida reads revenue straight from the payment provider, so every verified number on a listing came from Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe, Paddle or Polar, not from the founder. Then we give buyers and sellers one place to talk, sign an NDA, agree a Letter of Intent and an Asset Purchase Agreement, and close through escrow. Escrow.com payment handling is coming soon. The FAQ has the details.
What we believe
- Verification over self-reporting. A revenue figure should be traceable to a payment processor, never just a founder's word.
- Proven where it's hardest. We started with African startups because unverifiable claims are the norm there. The same standard applies everywhere we list.
- Deals stay in the product. Negotiation, documents and payment happen in one place, not scattered across email and DMs.
- We don't hold your money. When escrow opens, Escrow.com, a licensed provider, will.
