Privacy policy
This explains what Shaida MRR collects when you use the site, why, who sees it, and the choices you have.
Last updated October 1, 2026
What we collect
Account details: your email address and name, and your profile photo if you add one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and picture from Google.
Startup listings: what you enter about a startup, such as its name, description, country, website, asking price and logo.
Revenue data: when you connect a payment provider, we receive payment events and revenue amounts for that account so we can verify and display your revenue. For providers that use an API key, the key is stored encrypted.
Deals: your messages, the NDA, LOI and APA terms you agree, your signatures and their times, and your Escrow.com email if you start an escrow.
Activity: the last time you were active while signed in, which the other party in a deal can see, and any reports you send about another user.
How we use it
To run your account, verify and display revenue, let buyers and sellers talk and close deals, send emails about your account and deals, keep the service safe, and fix problems. We don't sell your personal data.
What is public
A listed startup shows its name, description, country, category and verified revenue figures to everyone, unless you list anonymously, in which case the name, logo, website and founder are hidden. Your messages and deal documents are only visible to you and the other party.
Who we share it with
We use these services to run Shaida, and they process data on our behalf:
- Convex, which hosts our database and backend.
- Resend, which sends our emails.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with it.
- Escrow.com, if you start an escrow. It receives the deal details and the emails of both parties, and runs its own identity checks under its own policy.
- Payment providers such as Paystack and Flutterwave, which send us your payment events when you connect them.
We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect users and the service.
Cookies and storage
We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember your theme. We don't use advertising cookies or analytics trackers.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and your startups' data. We may keep records we need for legal reasons, such as signed deal documents the other party also relies on.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, make a listing anonymous, turn off email notifications for new messages, and delete your account from your dashboard settings. For any other request about your data, send it through the feedback form in your dashboard.
Security
We encrypt API keys, restrict access to deal documents to the people in each deal, and use trusted providers for hosting and email. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away if you think your account is at risk.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. Questions go through the feedback form in your dashboard.
